How to PING the mail server and determine if the problem is with your Internet connection?
You need to display a DOS prompt in Windows 2000 or XP.
- Go to Start/Run, type in CMD and click OK.
- Type ping mail.google.com
This will ping the server 4 times. If there is a response from your machine, then everything is okay.
