How to Update SSL
Answer
SSL certificates are a type of security document that is downloaded to your Web browser from a website. Secure pages, like online banking pages or account pages that require you to enter personal information to gain access, are the types that have SSL certificates. Much like ActiveX controls, if an updated SSL certificate is available for a page that you're browsing, it will be downloaded to your computer automatically. Therefore, if you want to update a site's SSL certificate in your browser, all you have to do is visit that page.
Instructions
- Open your Web browser. Windows comes with Internet Explorer. Apple's Mac OS X comes with Safari.
- Type the URL of the page you're trying to visit into the address bar of your browser. No matter what browser you're using, the address bar is always located at the top of the window by default.
- Hit "Enter" on your keyboard. The website will load in the browser window, and if an SSL certificate update is available for that particular page, it will be downloaded into your browser's memory automatically.
